I grew up and reside in Visalia, California with my husband Vicente and son Nico. I earned my associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from College of the Sequoias and my bachelor’s degree from Fresno State University with an emphasis in STEM Education.

I am committed to creating a classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, loved, and an integral part of our family of learners and thinkers. I believe that building strong relationships with families is just as important as building relationships with each student. After all, parents are their children’s first teachers!

Keeping you connected to your child’s learning is very important to me. Each week, I will share updates through ParentSquare in a post called “Peek Into Our Week.” My hope is that these updates give you opportunities to talk with your child about what they are learning, celebrate their growth, and share in their kindergarten experience.

The Power of Play

I truly believe in the power of play! Research shows that repetition helps children build connections in their brains, and learning through play can make those repetitions meaningful, engaging, and fun.

In our classroom, we will practice what we learn through puzzles, bingo, board games, toys, crafts, hands-on activities, and so much more! When children are having fun, they are motivated to explore, problem-solve, take risks, and keep learning.

The Power of Music & Movement

I also believe strongly in the power of music and movement! Music engages neural pathways and can help strengthen skills such as focus, coordination, language, and literacy. Steady beats and rhythm give children opportunities to practice listening, patterns, and timing, while movement combined with language can support learning and retention.

And if there is a way to teach something through a song…I will find it! 

So get ready to sing, dance, play, explore, and learn your heart out in kindergarten!
