Ms. Hill Mobley - Third Grade

Welcome to third grade!  My name is Ms. Hill Mobley, and I am enjoying my 24th year of teaching this year.  I attended California State University, Stanislaus for my Bachelor of Arts degree.  I completed my Multiple-Subjects and Single-Subject Teaching Credentials from Chapman University, at NAS Lemoore.  I hold a CLAD (Cross-Cultural and Language Development) Certificate.

Curriculum for third grade is based on the Common Core Standards.  Our language arts program includes the McMillan McGraw-Hill Reading program, and leveled reading groups in our Excel program.  The district-adopted math program is McGraw-Hill Math.  We study integrated Science and Social Studies units throughout the year.

Third graders at Akers enjoy several special classes.  Mr. Porter teaches music weekly.  Coach Avery teaches P.E. classes twice a week.  Additionally, students attend a weekly Fitness Room class.  Mr. Fraley teaches art lessons to the students every other week.  We have story time with our librarian, Mrs. Bryant, where students also have an opportunity to check out library books.

Homework is assigned each day from Monday through Thursday.  Twenty minutes of reading, and practicing of skills taught in class is assigned.  Your support in helping your child complete his homework and reading each night, and returning his work to school each day will help him build strong work habits.

I am looking forward to a great year working with you and your child.  My email address is  You may also write a note or contact me at school (559) 998-5707, ext. 2322.
