I was born and raised in the Hanford area and attended the local high schools before going to college near Santa Barbara for a bit. I graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in sociology, and later earned my single subject teaching credential. Soon thereafter I decided to teach elementary education, so I attained my multiple subjects credential. Later, I went back to Fresno State and received my master’s degree in education along with an administrative credential.

I am married with three children. The youngest will be attending University of Rhode Island in the fall, my middle recently graduated from Gordon College in Massachusetts, and my eldest graduated from Harvard in 2016. I am currently in my 26th year of education, with this being my twelfth year with the Central Union School District.

This will be my second stint as an administrator, and although I am very excited to be back in this role, I am also really going to miss being in a classroom and teaching. Fortunately, Akers is a fantastic school, and I am thrilled to be a part of its staff and look forward to meeting the wonderful students that are a part of this institution.

Here’s to a great year at a great school!
